Code Of Conduct/Ice Etiquette
For skaters:
  • No food , gum, or drink on the ice including in the players' bench areas
  • Loose or baggy clothing and jeans are not appropriate
  • If you are involved in a group or private lesson it is the skater's job to be on the ice at the correct time-coaches will not go looking for skaters
  • No lying on the ice. If you fall get back up immediately.
  • No rough housing or playing tag.
  • Be aware what is happening on the ice at all times. Do not interfere with other skaters who are working on solos, skills and dances.  Skaters in a lesson with a coach have the right of way.
  • No standing in the middle of the ice. If you are not skating then you must be against the boards as not to impede another skater's progress.
  • Watch for and respect each other in terms of ice etiquette
  • Be responsible for cleaning up garbage at the boards and in the dressing room.

For parents:

  • Parents are not to be on the ice at any time. Our insurance does not cover parents.
  • The door to the ice surface is to be shut at all times
  • If there is a problem with a skater the coach or the program assistant will bring the skater to his/her parents.
  • Parents must not hang over the glass and yell at the skaters or the Program Assistants.
  • If there is a problem with a coach or program assistant please go to the coach prior to or after the ice session. You may also see a member of the executive.
  • Any concerns with your own skater should be addressed with the coach.
  • Do not leave children unattended during skating sessions
  • Please have your skater at the rink and rady to go on the ice for the start of the session.
  • Please use caution/discretion when entering the dressing rooms as skaters are changing after sessions.

 For all-Skating Attire

  • Hockey helmets are strongly recommended for all beginnig skaters
  • Clothing should provide warmth, allow for movement and provide some protection from falls
  • Layering of sweatshirts, sweaters, ski jackets, warm waterproof pants and long underwear or leotards is recommended
  • Warm mittens or gloves are a musr
  • Long scarves are not allowed
  • Snowsuits are fine for the younger skaters as long as theydo not drag on the ice
  • No belly baring tops or jeans
